All Alone in Dallas

The reality of the Goins' move has finally set in for the Rainoldis this week. I had to take a 3 day trip to Dallas this week. Typically Rebecca would travel with me and we would shop, hang out and generally have fun while ignoring the rest of our travelling companions (40 year old men). Unfortunately this trip, I was the only female as well as the only person under 40. I got to watch my co-workers (40 year old men) flirt with the waitresses at dinner every night and had to endure more sports talk than anyone ever should. Meanwhile back in huntsvegas Tony was stranded at home aching for human interaction. When Rebecca and I travel he and Josh always have "man-dates". Poor Tony, he was all alone with only the cats to comfort him.

Relevent Real Deal Homey Feel

Speaking of important issues such as golf. I have made some purchases

the past few weeks. Three weeks ago when I was in GR (for work), I went to Golf

Galaxy and tested just about every name brand putter they had. I walked away very

impressed with the Ping i Series Craz-e.....so much I bought one. The Scotty is going on either ebay or Craigslist. The going price is $150. How do I know that? B/c of of an awesome website that tracks ebay sales. http://valueguide.pga.com/

Then.....I saw some Dry Joys on ebay for $85 shipped. They are

considered "blemished" according to Footjoy but the sellers feedback was

100% so I bought them. There is a small ripple in the side of the shoe,

about .25" - no big deal.

I'm going to sell my Adidas' on ebay, they are going for the same price

as the Footjoys, so the cost should be a push. I might have to throw in $10.

I got golfitis bad - ready to hit the course especially after watching

some of the FBR Open today. (Phil shot a million.)

Maybe not as stranded as i first thought

Because i booked our Australia Plane Tickets 5 minutes ago!!!!!!!!

We will be leave Huntsville Friday April 10, and get back April 27.

Right now i am exited, and scared (mostly of the credit card bill).

To prepare for this trip, i am not taking a Friday off until then (gotta love comp time!). We get two full weeks of australia, so i figure thats good for seeing 7% of the country, and our two favorite expatriots living amongst the Aussies.

I hate that i will have to miss some golf league though. Oh wait, not really. I will make it up while i am there. Besides, I will be playing with the golf league coordinator.

In other news, I know that at least Eric and I will be teeing it up this Sunday at the Muni. Jimbo and B-Chassee have been invited. Its supposed to be a scorcher of a day reaching almost 12C!! (53F).

Holla at yo boi!

Love,

Tony

Couple of quick things

First, I ordered new grips for my golf clubs today. The Winn Xi7's. I shall be replacing those probably next weekend. I figured it couldn't hurt, seeing as my current grips are dry-rotting. Also, i tightened up the screws in the bottom of my putter. It no longer rattles. I guess you could say i am gearing up for the upcoming golf league.

Second, Josh you will love this. I have secured us an old 250 gal. propane tank. Now, my friend, we can smoke some meat. Well i guess we need to transform it into a smoker first, but you get the picture. "Let's throw another shrimp on the barbie" -- Lloyd Christmas

Bridgestreet date...

Hey you two,

Brad and I went to bridgestreet last night for dinner and a movie. We ate at Ketchup and I have attached some pics of our wonderful appetizer! My favorite of course was the sweet potato fries!! Brad and I had some beer, I ate some Kobe burger BLT sliders and Brad ate the Beer Can Chicken(Lager braised half chicken, garlic smashed potato, caramelized onion, sauteed baby vegetables). I wanted some dessert, but was way to full for any of that. :( As we were enjoying our food, the VIP section was being set up. I got excited because they were also pulling the curtains for more privacy. I thought someone famous might be coming. Turns out, it was just a bunch of ladies from all sorts of ages walking through to enter their VIP section. Bummer.

After dinner, we walked to Monaco (a long walk let me tell ya :) haha) and went to see the movie Revolutionary Road with Kate Winslet and Leo DiCaprio. It was a really good movie. Not the happiest of movies and Brad actually "jokingly" yelled at me because I picked it. I recommend the movie, but don't be expecting to feel all nice, warm, and fuzzy when it is over with. Hope you two have a wonderful weekend...well, I guess yours is almost over with by the time you get this message, but glad to see your travels are fun. Wish we could be there to experience some of it with ya.

The Hardest Question Josh will Ever Have to Answer

Alright Josh....

Jaime and I are watching a show on Food Network. I don't know the name of it but it is about the best things food network stars have ever eaten. That got the two of us talking about the best thing we had ever eaten (not your favorite food, but the best thing we had ever eaten).

So Josh, "What is the best thing you have ever eaten?" Describe, give me details.

Mine would have to be a dish called Steak and Cake from Fox Valley Restaurant in Helena, AL. It is a Filet Mignon and a Crab Cake. It is served with a brown garlic butter that has Worcestershire Sauce and Heavy Cream in it. Both the Steak and the Crab Cake just melt in your mouth. I am drooling on myself just thinking about it.

Jaime's favorite, well, she just keeps spouting out different desserts, what can I say, don't ask a pregnant woman to name her favorite food.

Goins stuff...

Hey Josh & Rebecca,

I just wanted to let you both know that your TV is doing very well. I think it was a little homesick...no I lied...not really...it really likes us!!! We are treating it very well and there are no Wii's in site. I am making sure of that! I wanted you both to know that your food is going to great use. When my mom was here, she used your last two eggs to make her stuffing for the turkey. (Brad got a turkey over Thanksgiving from Ridgeview & we decided to make it when my mom came to visit us.) I have made some good sandwhiches with your mayonnaise, chips n salsa with your spicy salsa, and I am planning on making a turkey pot pie with your pie crusts. So far, we have loved eating your food! Oh, I also used your butter to make my mashed potatoes last night! :) We love reading your posts and I am looking forward to more pictures. You both are definitely missed in our group and Huntsvegas is not the same without you.
Rebecca: I thought of you the other day when I was in Hobby Lobby and they had come out with some new Cricut designs. I scrapbooked for the majority of last weekend and thought of you and how good a bottle of wine sounded with ya. Keep us all posted on your fun trips and stories. It is so good to hear you two are settling into Adelaide pretty well. Take care,
April :)

You have to have a reason right?

So every blog has to start for some reason. The reason we have started this blog is because two great friends of ours have moved to Adelaide, Australia for the next year. They started a blog to keep us up to date on their lives, and we felt obliged to do the same.

Our entire group of friends will have the privilege of posting to this fine blog whenever they want to. Josh, Rebecca, we miss you already and we will see you soon. We hope you enjoy your trip and we hope you enjoy reading about our lives here on our blog.

First Weekend without the Goins (AKA the social glue)

So... I no longer see the Goin's cars from Hobbs RD as I drive past on the way to work. It is a little strange to see a "For Rent" sign instead. So now it has come to the first weekend without what we have come to know as the "social glue" that has held our "crew" together for the past couple of years. It started with Tony and Laura planning a night of hockey watching the Havoc, prefaced by drinks and "Sports Tapas" at Mason's. I think it was a successful night. The Havoc won, first one in like 6 games, and we planned game night at the Moore's for the following night.

Game night went well. I tried my damndest to immitate the Goin's home-made pizza rolls and Jaime concocted a very delicious chicken cheese dip. We played Trivial Pursuit, Sequence, and Pictionary. Honestly, Sequence is my new favorite board game, it's like this crazy mix of Poker and board games. Josh, you would have loved it, there were a lot of "thats what she said" jokes to be had.
