No more kiddin' around

Just a quick update on what Valentines Day looked like at the Postma's:

  • I cooked pecan crusted chicken for dinner for Julie (I used basil for the first time ever)
  • Julie cooked the sides, yummy salad and red-skinned mashed potatoes.
  • Served with some white wine/sparkling grape juice.
  • And for the grand finale.....Julie whipped up some creme brulee. I wanted to pour some sambuca on top and light it on fire but Julie opted to sear the top using the broiler on the stove. Which led me to my telling Julie about the Statue of Liberty shots my friends and I did back in college. (Picture Julie responding by slowing shaking her head back and forth slowly.) Cut and paste the You Tube video below and fast forward to the 2:30 min mark

Julie also surprised me with a little Valentines Day gift - Crown Royale (giddy up).

Earlier in the week, I surprised her by bringing flowers to her work.

What did everyone else do for Valentines Day?

  1. Brad's dad was in town, so we were slightly limited to romanticism if you know what I mean. We all went to applebee's last night for dessert and drinks. Brad got me the Candace Olsen Divine Design book I have been wanting and I got him a knew lighter for the grill and Season 2 of 24. I also made sugar cookies in the shape of hearts with my homemade frosting.
